Intensity-modulated

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) or three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D CRT) is the latest and the most precise form of radiation therapy. Tumors come in various shapes and sizes. Using computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, this method provides an accurate three-dimensional image of the tumor, which help oncologists direct and fine-tune a more accurate and powerful beam of radiation to the size and shape of the tumor. Thanks to this method, healthy tissue is exposed to lower doses of radiation.

Radiation Oncology is a proven, effective treatment for cancer patients. Radiation is also used for treatment of other diseases, besides cancer. The treatment of cancer may include the use of either radiation alone, or in combination with surgery and/or chemotherapy.

Before you will be assigned to any course of treatment, you will have a consultation with a professional which specializes in medical or radiation oncology. Your consultation will include the following: a medical examination, necessary tests, and X-rays.
